Cleveland, Ohio—Embarking on the final leg of its journey, the Chinese Spectacular played one night at the State Theater in Cleveland on Saturday. An enthusiastic crowd from all over Ohio was in attendance at the performance.
Among the audience members, Ms. Lei Yang came to the United States in August 2007, and is a Chinese language teacher at Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio.
"I feel that the show is absolutely fantastic," she exclaimed and was overall impressed and enthusiastic about the performance.
She concluded, "It made Chinese as well as Americans understand the essence of the traditional Chinese culture in a short period of time. I thought the show was very successful. The costume, the music was all very splendid."
Through dance and music, the Chinese Spectacular culminates its performances with 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.
As a Chinese language teacher, Ms. Yang has some understandings on traditional Chinese culture, "In today's show, I was able to see such a direct, vivid presentation."
She felt that the show would definitely facilitate her teaching in the future. "I feel very proud being Chinese."
The Spectacular will conclude its 2008 international tour with one more show in Huntsville Alabama and three shows in Edmonton Canada. When completed, the Spectacular will have performed in 65 cities on four continents and to an audience of 650,000.
