MILAN, Italy—Fabrizio Tait, a businessman who attended the Chinese Spectacular at Milan's Allianz Theatre on Tuesday, could hardly find enough superlatives to describe the unique cultural show.

"Very positive, very rich, very full of colors and effects, full of life, very professional. Complete, elegant, and wonderful music. This show definitely deserves a big audience."

Tait liked all the acts, from Nymphs of the Sea to Victory Drums to the Mongolian Bowl Dance.

"Wonderful effect in which the performers resemble the water, and the fan dance. There is even the triumphal effect of forces of soldiers and drums. It was very, very complete."

Tait said the Spectacular presented a true portrayal of Chinese traditional culture, but added a word of warning for the performers.

"I asked myself: can this troupe go back to China after this kind of show, which condemns communist regime? If they will go back to China they will be killed. Don't go back to China."

He said it's good to show people that not all Chinese are of the same mind as the Chinese Communist Party.

"Try to make people get to know traditional Chinese culture, it is very, very important, because public opinion thinks that China is composed only of people with the same ideas as the communist regime. That's not the truth, absolutely. It's good let all people know the real situation about China — especially recently, with the situation about China and Tibet. I'm really afraid for it. I hope Olympics principles will win."

Tait said he will remember his favourite acts in the show, and is looking forward to its return next year.

"I hope you can come next year again. I was told you will come again next year."
