I am delighted to wish all the viewers of NTDTV a Happy New Year, and to send my best wishes for the Year of the Pig.

I know how enjoyable the New Year celebrations are, for people from all communities, I hope that these festivities will herald a successful year ahead for all your viewers.

Britain is rightly proud of its ethnically diverse society. The Chinese community makes an immense contribution to all aspects of our national life, and it is great at this time of year in particular to recognize and celebrate this.

I am sure that ties between the people of Britain and China, and Chinese community worldwide, will also continue to go from strength to strength in the year ahead.

Once again, my warm good wishes go to all your viewers and their families at this time.
