ImageGreetings to All!

First, I would like to extend my thanks for inviting me to your wonderful event, and I send my regrets that I am unable to attend this year's  Chinese New Year Spectacular. However, I know that this memorable celebration will make a great impact in our community and in your homeland.

I commend and salute you for your mission to bring this great event to such a large audience. It speaks very highly of Chinese and Chinese Americans living in this area that while you are celebrating and having a great time, you don't forget to include humanitarian projects. The recipients of this event's ticket proceeds are most fortunate to have benefactors like you, willing to raise funds in order to help alleviate their hardships and meet some of their basic needs. Because of your great deeds, your successes and good fortune will continue to multiply.

Being involved in state government, I have the good fortune of meeting wonderful Chinese and developing friendships with many. Chinese are high-caliber professionals who are contributing to this country in various capacities including health care, education, government service, and business. Because of your contributions to our country, particularly in our state, I am always reminded of the fact that this country is a melting pot of immigrants, who are contributing to this nation's continued progress.

I would like to reiterate that I am proud to be a friend of the Chinese community, and my congratulations to Yi Liu, and Chinese New Year Spectacular Organizing Committee for success of this momentous undertaking.

Sincerely,

Dan Rutherford
State Senator
