Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular

Press Conference in Chinatown on Jan 5 to Commence Ticket Sales

The New Dynasty Culture Center will hold a press conference on January 5, 2008 to announce the introduction to Honolulu of a major theatre event, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale that day for this show which the Center is sponsoring.

The Chinese Spectacular, the world’s largest Chinese performance series, is a recreation of the glorious ancient arts of the Tang Dynasty. It will premiere in Honolulu on April 21, 2008 at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall for one show only.

In this unforgettable production, sumptuous music, striking scenery and gorgeous costumes evoke the beauty and grandeur of the golden age of China. The celebrated worldwide tour features an outstanding cast of international vocalists, musicians, and classical Chinese dancers in a cross-cultural experience not to be missed.

Audiences have expressed amazement at the Spectacular’s visual explosion of color, its dramatic backdrops and fabulous costumes. The show’s designers and choreographers have spent years researching all of these elements in order to bring back the lost arts of traditional Chinese culture to the modern stage.

More than 650,000 people are expected to experience the Spectacular shows live in 65 cities on four continents from January through May 2008, making it the largest world-class Chinese performance series in the world. According to Billboard magazine, the Spectacular ranked in the top ten shows in Feb 2006 based on ticket sales at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
