I am pleased to take this opportunity to offer holiday greetings to the Chinese people, Xin Nian Hao. Of course, there is a great reservoir of talent. There are more talents in China than anywhere in the world. The Chinese nation has the remarkable opportunity to cultivate the careers of such young people. And the chief requirement for that is the state support of science and the freedom of the individuals involved to pursue their own ideas regardless of where they may lead.
