This is the first year for the Chinese New Year Spectacular to play in Detroit. The Stinson family enjoyed the show very much. For the past two years, the wife, Ann, and the daughter Taylor had to go to Chicago to watch the Chinese New Year Spectacular.
Ann liked this year's Spectacular "the best!" "Everything is so pretty!" "I'm learning more and more about Chinese culture every year." Ann particularly liked the first program, Descent of the Celestial Kings. "I've learned that's how the God came down, and told people what needed to do and go forward."
Taylor loved all the acts this year. She said she particularly liked the act that portrayed people who had been persecuted for their faith. "The girl got hurt [by the policemen]. And she died, and she went to heaven. It was very inspiring. You did something you want to do and you put your heart in it."
It is the first time for the husband, Craig Stinson, a CEO of a large company at Rochester, Michigan, to watch the show. He commented, "the dancing, the singing, everything is just beautiful! I'm really enjoying myself."
He added, "The writing on the screen is nice. I can understand what's going on. I found that that's very helpful."
