Proclamation
2007 CHINESE NEW YEAR GLOBAL GALA
 

WHEREAS,    The Greater Philadelphia region is home to more than 200,000 Asian Americans who bring traditional  values such as respect for family, community, and education, that enrich the lives of all of out citizens; and,

WHEREAS,    The Chinese New Year Global Spectacular provides Chinese Families an opportunity to gather and  celebrate their heritage and engage in a wide range of cultural activities; and,

WHEREAS,    The New Tang Dynasty Spectacular promotes traditional Chinese culture in the form of an exchange platform for those interested in Asian culture; and,

WHEREAS,     This New Year is The Year of the Boar, which represents human nature at its best by celebrating loyalty, knowledge and honesty; and,

NOW, THEREFORE,    We, the Commissioners of Montgomery County, do hereby proclaim 2007 as THE YEAR OF BOAR and  recognize Asian Americans for the valuable contributions that they bring to our culture and community.
